Orthopaedic & Advanced Surgery
At our Amberley Clinic, a variety of orthopaedic procedures not commonly offered in general practice are provided through the expertise and guidance of our skilled and experienced veterinarian Kate Anderson.
Orthopaedic injuries typically warrant a referral to a specialist as the initial step. However in cases where this option is not feasible or declined, we offer an exceptional alternative.
With integrated post-op care and rehabilitation, recovery is highly co-ordinated and optimised.
We have excellent pain management strategies and use local blocks, fentanyl/ketamine CRI's, epidural anaesthesia and brachial blocks.
We have a large caseload of orthopaedic cases and offer:
Fracture repairs with LCP (locking compression plates). |
Achilles tendon repairs using external fixators or calcaneal/tibial screw to immobilise the hock. |
Talocrural ligament repair. |
Tarsal arthrodesis. |
Femoral Head and Neck Osteotomy. |
